a unique partnership since 2010
Developed jointly by Renault and emergency services, the initiative aims to help firefighters save time — safely — during their interventions, ultimately to save more lives.Renault is the only car manufacturer in the world to have a full-time firefighter Lieutenant Colonel on its team. For several years now, Renault has been regularly training first responders in multiple countries to handle the latest generation of vehicles across its entire range.

the training courses offered
what types of training?
The training sessions offered take place with real vehicles, under actual intervention conditions: fire, extrication, rescue in immersion, etc.Both theoretical and practical, these sessions can last several days. Additionally, regular exchanges ensure that emergency services are kept up to date with any new developments that could impact them.

Renault has entrusted 4,000 recent vehicles to firefighters, including the latest-generation electric and hybrid models, to help them familiarize themselves with the latest technologies.

Essential, extrication training allows firefighters to gain in both time and efficiency. It also helps raise awareness of the use of QRescue, which provides them with immediate access to the technical datasheet of the accidented vehicle.Both manufacturers and firefighters participate in the annual French Extrication Challenges as well as the World Rescue Challenge, using recent vehicles made available for these events.

Did you know that Renault has invented the only system capable of extinguishing an electric battery fire caused by an external source? Contrary to common belief, the high-voltage batteries in our electric vehicles are very safe, but acts of vandalism or the spread of an external fire can lead to a fire inside the battery.To address this, full-scale fire extinguishing training sessions are held to develop the appropriate response behaviors and train firefighters in the rapid use of Fireman Access, a Renault innovation.
